Are you seeking to make lasting and meaningful change in your life? I believe that our lives have infinite possibilities and through a commitment to change, we can build the life we want and achieve inner peace and fulfillment. Addictive behaviors, anxiety, depression, identity and relational issues, life transitions, and work-related stress are common issues that I provide support for my clients.
Often, we seek help because of an immediate need or a situation that has spun out of control. Other times, it’s because we feel “stuck” and cannot see the path to improve our well-being and happiness. Whether you’re dealing with an urgent issue or need clarity in your life, I will listen, help you gain actionable insight, and provide you with a non-judgemental empathetic space to explore the difficulties you face.
My professional training in clinical social work has shaped my understanding of a vast array of personal and societal issues, which I integrate into my therapeutic approach. These issues include physical, psychological, and emotional abuse; childhood neglect; domestic violence and sexual abuse; trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); binging, addiction, and eating disorders; alcoholism and substance abuse; sexuality, gender, and LGBT-QI issues; and immigration, refugee, war-zone trauma.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a type of talk therapy that helps you become more aware of inaccurate or negative thinking, and ultimately, allows you to respond to challenging situations more effectively. My approach also uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques in providing guidance and reality-based examples allowing you to find solutions to your problems, feel empowered by understanding the root cause of a symptom, and in turn, make the change you want to see manifested in your life.
My commitment to my clients is that we work together to create a toolbox of uniquely-tailored coping skills that you can apply to your present life and future challenges. We build these coping skills through interactive therapy sessions and reinforce them with weekly homework assignments. Don’t worry, these assignments are optional, but my clientele has found them invaluable in providing immediate relief to their life’s many stressors and hurdles.
My unique experiences and understanding of human behavior have informed the way I engage with my clients to create healing and understanding. Throughout our meetings, you will gain more clarity and insight and realize that there is no issue too big that can’t be changed. If you are going through an inevitable life transition, feel “stuck” or need balance, I can help you. I invite you to call or email me to set up a free consultation so we can determine if I am a good fit for your needs. I look forward to joining in your journey towards inner peace and fulfillment!
