Postpartum Anxiety, Depression & pOCD

   Fertility Related Anxiety

Life may be feeling overwhelming, and you’re in need of balance, and the ability to feel validated and understood. You may be grieving your “old”self, the one before you entered the family planning and fertility journey. It’s common for clients to experience an identity crisis which may be a combination of low self-esteem and self judgement related to outcomes. These are a few of the experiences people go through as they enter family planning. You may be grieving a loss, and feel guilt associated with infertility, miscarriage and failed IVF attempts among other things.

  • Are you’re feelings of worry and guilt causing you to feel overwhelmed and paralyzed (don’t know what to do)?

  • Are you feeling isolated from your community and/or partner?

  • Are you finding yourself in a “worry” cycle and you feel you can’t get out?

  • Do most things feel personal and hard to accomplish?

  • Are you obsessing over decisions? what’s the right path for you? We can explore that.

  • Do you struggle with imposter syndrome?

These symptoms can be common with any major transition related to fertility, decisions, fear of the unknown, and the birth of a child, to name a few life changes. It is important to pay attention to these symptoms and seek support to get through them.

Postpartum Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (pOCD) is a symptom that occurs during pregnancy or soon after delivery. pOCD reflects as obsessions that harm (not by you) can happen to your unborn or infant child.

Together we will discuss how to process and create a plan which will include actionable tools that will help you move forward and feel at ease in your life. When you get to know your thoughts, you can anticipate them, and act on them before they become disruptive and problematic, this is a technique we use in CBT and it brings significant relief, freedom and the knowing that you control your thoughts rather than the other way around.

Fertility Related Depression

Any thought that you continually think of is called a belief. Many of your beliefs serve you well to navigate your world. Other beliefs do not serve you well, thoughts about your own inadequacy or unworthiness are a couple of examples. Depression and Anxiety most of the time co-exist. If you feel sad, unhappy, are constantly worried & comparing, if you question your purpose, feel hopeless, have lack of motivation, have increased or decreased apetite, and question whether you can make long lasting change you may be experiencing depression.

I would like for you to know that with the right guidance and accountability to process these feelings, you will find ways to cope and get through the hardships you face.
